DEDOLIGHT ORION PROJECTION SYSTEMS

Dedolight projectors (DP) have delighted lighting professionals for many years all around the world. It is most likely the best seller of all dedolight light shaping tools. Dedolight DPs are famous for their optical quality: razor sharp edges, even exposure and homogeneity edge to edge, no color fringing, light where you want it, deep and crisp shadows everywhere else. They will even show (if you wish) the micron-size grains of the anodizing process on the edge of the framing leaves that the tip of your finger cannot feel.

Obtaining this level of precision from open-face 6-color COB fixtures with a 50º native beam (Orion 300 FS) or 80º native beam (Orion 675 FS) looks like an impossible feat. If you have met Dedo Weigert, you know this is the type of optical challenges he thrives on. The result is an adaptation of the DP400 "A" size projector to Prolycht's fixtures with 2 variations for regular focal or wide angle lenses. Dedolight precision optics require that the front-end accessories stay aligned with the source optical center. It is no secret that the larger the glass the better the optics, and that the Bowens mount is not the most precise mechanism. If you have used Dedo DP400 projector you have a good idea of its mass. Prolycht has modified the 675 FS Bowens mount with a bayonet style locking mechanism (think camera-style locking mount): the ProLock (patent pending), to accommodate the heavier optics.

The regular projector (DP400-KUP) accepts 2 prime lenses: 150mm and 185mm. The wide angle projector (DP400-WAP) is designed to work with the shorter focal lengths: 70mm and 100mm without vignetting. Prolycht's 3 current offerings are the standard projector with a choice of 185mm or 150mm lens, and the wide-angle projector with the 100mm lens. All the bells and whistles available for the Dedo DP400 projector can be used on the Prolycht adaptation. The Universal assembly accepts the A-size Gobo Holder, Iris, Loose-leaves Framing Shutter etc. The Universal assembly can be swapped for the Dedicated Framing Shutter for users who do extensive shutter work.
