Recognized worldwide by several technical Academy Awards, controlling light with lenses and sophisticated mechanical movements is what dedolight does best. Appreciative of other current popular light styles, for the first time dedolight has designed and manufactures high performance optics for other brands like Aputure and Prolycht with "ProLock" Bowens mounts.

This Dedolight Zoom Lens fits Aputure and Prolycht Bowens mount models with varying photometric results. For example, while the standard Prolycht fresnel zoom for the 675 FS tightest spot is 15º (50º flood), this Dedolight Zoom lens (non-fresnel) achieves a super-spot twice narrower both on the Orion 675 FS (6.9º spot to 33º flood) and on the 300 FS (8.5º spot to 35º flood). The 4-section barrel rotates smoothly to achieve any beam angle within the specified focus range. At its tightest spot, the most impressive setting, the 675 FS set at 5600k outputs 9197 fc at 2m (99,000 lux). With less than half the power draw, also at 5600k, the Orion 300 FS output is only 20% less than its big brother: 7528 fc (81,000 lux)! Without the honeycomb, the zoom super-spot shows some ring anomalies. As is, it is best suited to work with reflectors such as Dedolight-brand Lightstream, or to produce a powerful, xenon-like, narrow beam and longer throw.  When used as a direct source, we highly recommend to use the DZOOM-P-HON honeycomb to clean-up a lot of the ring anomalies.

Striving for the highest quality, this dedolight zoom delivers the best performance with the large glass lens it houses. Unlike other manufacturers, there is no polycarbonate in any of Dedolight optics. This heavy high-end optic fits best on Aputure or Prolycht 675 FS "ProLock" positive-locking Bowens mounts. This modified mount has no play so that the front-end accessories stay in place, do not droop nor wobble. It also ensures that the optical center of Dedo's accessories remains precisely lined-up with the COB light source.  For the Prolycht Orion 300FS with the standard Bowens mount, we recommend acquiring the Bridge & Rods support to relieve stress from the front of the fixture.  Consider adding to your set-up the ProCali Yoke Offset rails system that moves the yoke below CG for the ultimate ease of operation. 

The front of the Dedo DZOOM-P is 7.5" in diameter. An optional honeycomb attachment is available, and recommended, to help clean up ring anomalies created in super-spot.
