Continue ShoppingIf you love your old tungsten "dedos" and are used to have a Classic 150 Watt on-hand (DLH4, DLHM4-300), this is the obvious move into LEDs. The DLED7 series is an all-around optical marvel. The DLED7 are, of course, focusing lights delivering ultimate control over the beam. Native focusing range is 60º-6º (intensity 1:20) that becomes 54º-90º with the wide-angle adapter (DLWAR). Slide in front the larger Parallel Beam Intensifier (DPBA-714) to output 437fc at 12ft! The DLED7-Bi accepts the same accessories (M-size) as the 150W Classic tungsten, including the industry standard DP1 projector. Be it bi-color, daylight, or tungsten models, the light is constantly consuming 90w of power from one of the DT7-bi ballast choices (AC, DMX or DC). For the bi-color version, 90 watts of power is alternating between two 90 Watt diode sets in the array: no matter what diodes are on the light is always giving you the 90W you've paid for (not 45w on one color set, and 45w on the other). We call this a 2x 90w system with continuous dimming and color control. One of the well-know advantage of LEDs is that they do not output much heat forward. However they generate quite a lot of heat from the back that results in failure if left unattended. To reliably output this amount of light from their small housing, Dedolight "Turbo" heads are "actively"cooled. Silent fans run only as needed, without disrupting the most delicate audio scenarios. Built like rocks, they will serve you for decades. Like the Classic dedos most have come to know well, you'll want this light on every job you work on.
