Shipping policy

ADDITIONAL SHIPPING FEES

For most orders over $200, but excluding some bulkier items, Dedolight California includes shipping via UPS/Fedex Ground service within the continental USA and Canada (See Shipping to Canada section below for details). For states or territories outside of standard Ground shipping zones (like the great States of Hawaii and Alaska) you may be contacted with additional shipping charges after ordering. We would be happy to estimate these charges before you order via phone or through the web chat service during normal business hours (9a-5p PST), and anytime via email.

SHIPPING PROCEDURES

We try to make shipping of your gear as safe as possible. All orders are shipped from our Burbank, CA facility. Unless you specify "NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED" in the comments section during checkout, all our packages require signature from the receiver. If you require a no signature delivery, Dedolight California Inc cannot be held liable for lost or missing packages. Dedolight California insurance, as well as express carriers provided insurance, may not cover "no signature deliveries".  

Most orders over $200 get complimentary UPS/Fedex ground shipping services from Dedolight California. If you are local to our facility in Burbank, CA you can also choose the in-store pickup option.

  • Eflect XL and Large LIGHTSTREAM reflector kits and reflectors (50x50cm) have a bulky item shipping charge. These charges are based on current shipping rates
  • Contact us for info about shipping large 1x1m Lightstream reflectors and pouches

In some instance re-stocking is needed to fulfill your order in which case you will be notified of any delays and given a realistic time estimate for fulfillment.  Keep in mind that UPS/Fedex do not provide a guaranteed delivery date for ground service. To be safe, allow 5 to 10 business days for orders to be received using UPS ground.

EXPRESS SHIPPING REQUESTS

Should you require express shipping, we are here to communicate, organize and accommodate your request. Order with the ground shipping option from your cart, and CONTACT us to request and organize express shipping of your order:

  • Provide us with the desired delivery date and we will respond with various alternatives to meet your deadline.

Express rates can be charged to your own UPS/Fedex account, or we will prepay the Fedex/UPS cost and add to your total invoice.

You are also welcome to email us your own UPS or FedEx prepaid shipping label.

Some products are stocked locally for immediate fulfillment.  Each month Dedolight California receives several shipments from the factory in Germany. If an item is not in stock in our warehouse, it can usually be added into the next scheduled shipment.  In the rare circumstances when your order requires a special import to meet your deadline, we will provide you with your freight estimated cost, while duties & taxes will be paid for by Dedolight California.

FREIGHT

Dedolight California ships via ground for orders under 150lbs. For packages over 150lbs you will be contacted to set up freight services. Please order with the ground shipping option from your cart and we will contact you to arrange freight services.

INSURANCE DURING TRANSIT

As of Jan 1, 2025, UPS insurance rate is $1.50 per $100. This rate can be updated at any time to follow UPS/Fedex rate changes.

If you have an equipment/property insurance, it may not cover your gear until you take first delivery of it and thus become the legal owner.  This could leave your purchase un-insured during the first transit.  If you wish to have your package insured during transit for its full replacement value or for your property insurance deductible, please CONTACT us and we will add this service to your final invoice.

TRANSIT DAMAGE

Hey...it happens. It's out of your hands, and ours! With some teamwork we will sort it out.

If you used your own UPS/Fedex account for shipping, please contact your carrier as soon as possible.  Your carrier will provide you with the necessary steps to file a claim.  If you used Dedolight California UPS/Fedex service with insurance, please CONTACT us within a day of receiving the shipment.  Dedolight California will handle the claim directly with UPS/Fedex. Do not throw away the packing material or equipment until the claim is closed.

Dedolight California will do its best to ship replacement equipment as soon as possible.

SHIPPING TO CANADA

Dedolight California offers free shipping to Canada via ground service, Delivered Duties Unpaid (DDU) on most orders over 200 USD.

Please make sure the phone number and email you provided when ordering is accurate.  The carrier will contact you directly to collect duties, taxes and other applicable cross-border fees. You also have the option to clear your order with a different licensed brokerage house by informing the carrier as soon as it makes the first contact with you. The carrier will then forward the handling of your shipment to your appointed broker.

The carrier and/or brokerage house may need to obtain your verbal consent and/or require a signature of a POA (Power of Attorney) or your BN (Canadian Business Number) to clear your order with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

PST (Provincial Sales Tax)

All orders are imported to Canada as casual goods and are subject to the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) from the destination Province. If you would like to claim reimbursement of the PST from the CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency), you may need to submit a B3 customs form with your request. Legal Notice

The purchaser/recipient of the merchandise is the Importer of Record. The Importer of Record is responsible for complying with all Canadian laws and regulations for importing such merchandise into Canada. When you place an order for shipment to Canada, you are authorizing the carrier and Canadian customs broker to act as agents on the Importer’s behalf with Canada Border Services Agency, to clear, report, and account for the imported merchandise with CBSA and remit to CBSA all applicable duties, fees and taxes arising from such importation, on behalf of the Importer in accordance with all applicable Canadian legal requirements.

JURISDICTION

All matters arising under and from this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
