The DLED7N-BI-IR - Bi-infrared 860nm - 960nm Tunable IR Light Head
The dedolight NEO DLED7N-BI-IR is the highest output of bi-infrared in the medium sized dedolight LED focusing family. It's a brilliant balance of output strength and control. This light outputs tunable wavelengths between 860nm to 960nm in the most popular dedolight "Classic" size. A variation of three specialty light heads, along with three DTneo ballasts and accessories can fit into a medium sized rolling hard case. The focusing beam angle range from 60°- 8° offers with it a wide mW/cm² irradiance and beautiful beam uniformity, just as its cousin, the visible spectrum dedolights have. Wether the light is being used for forensics/medical and scientific purposes, or for specialty photography and security setups, this powerful medium sized dedolight takes emission to very high levels; well enough to penetrate surfaces, cover a large space in flood, or a very distant space in spot.
The new dedolight Neo bi-color housing is shorter front to back as the chassis connector is relocated to the bottom. The back casing redesign cuts down light leaks even further. The DLED7N Neo light head is an incredible 30% shorter than the already compact DLED7. The DLED7N-BI-IR Neo head is compatible with all the M-size accessories of the DLED7, DLED4 and the Classic dedolights DLH4.
POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS:
- Infrared Illumination for cameras (night shot)
- Infrared photography
- Surveillance systems
- Machine vision systems
- Wildlife observation
- Criminology
- Art curation & restoration
- Spectroscopy and material analysis
Difference Between DLED4N and DLED7N
Both the DLED4N and DLED7N light heads share the same housing and operate with DTneo or DTneo+ ballasts, using the same accessories. The difference lies in the power output and beam optimization: the DLED4N is a 40W light head, while the DLED7N is 80W. With more diodes added the DLED7N generates more heat making it an actively cooled light. While nearly silent, the larger COB in the DLED7N versions results in more punch. On the other hand, with a smaller COB, the DLED4N is passively cooled, offering more optimization on the beam quality and considerably longer use in a DC setup. Due to its beam quality the DLED4N unit also has broader light ratios when using optical accessories like the DPBA-714 unit (albeit still not reaching the punch of the DLED7N unit in the same setup).
The DTneo Ballast
This is where the dedolight NEO series truly separates itself from its predecessor. Gone are the days when you needed to choose between an AC, AC+DMX or DC ballasts with the previous DT7 series. The DTneo, and DTneo+ (wireless option) offer all the functions you wanted in a single ballast, and more. Starting with AC/DC operation, the DTneo is a DC ballast with a V-mount plate for battery operation. The optional AC adapter electronics is built inside a battery shell that looks like and snaps-on exactly like a V-mount battery. DMX is now a standard feature in all DTNeo ballasts. Use the simple push/turn knob and OLED displayed menu to select between a deep, smooth "linear" or "exponential" dimming curve, or seamlessly change color, without drifting - even at very low settings (0.1 to 100% dimming range). Take advantage of 1000-point 8-bit linear, or 16-bit advanced control (via DMX/RDM protocol). Select the high-speed setting to shoot up to 50,000fps flicker-free. In direct tradition with Dedolight long-lasting equipment, the DTNeo ballast hardware and software are future-proof. The software is user upgradable via USB. The DTneo ballasts have an auto-detect feature to recognize and drive all the DLEDNeo light heads between 20w-90w. If you wish to invest for the future; DLED2N, 3N, 4N, 7N, 9N - mono, bi-color, Infra-red, Ultra-Violet and more, are all controlled by the DTneo ballast. To put it simply, the DTNeo ballast opens the world to an entire new generation of light heads, and the DLED7N-BI leads the party.
With the "DTneo+" version of the ballast you are unlocking the ability to use wireless control via CRMX LumenRadio and Bluetooth.
