THE DLED9N-BI LIGHT HEAD
The dedolight NEO DLED9N-BI is the largest of the Neo light head units. While it shares the same power rating as the DLED7N, it houses the diode set in larger body, controls light beams through a larger lens and therefor has an all-around larger output and scale. The size of the lens controls beam optimization to the highest level in the Neo models. Its output ratios are higher, more perfect in balance, strength and control. The DLED9N unit boasts a whopping 50°- 4° focusing range (1:12 light ratio) that sets it aside from the rest of the pack, including everything else in the focusing LED market (which is already very small). It is a passively cooled, silent light set as well. Like its predecessor, the DLED9-BI, this light draws a constant 80w of power from the DTneo ballast by alternating between two 80w diode sets (tungsten and daylight) in its array. This means no matter what color diodes are on at any given time the light is always delivering the output you've paid for: not 40w on one color and 40w on the other, but 80W each. If you know the DLED9 series well, the new dedolight NEO DLED9N has the same beam quality and output from its predecessor. The difference in the Neo version mostly stems from the advancements in the Dtneo ballasts; the DLED9N can reach deeper dimming control and color integrity in lower dimming ranges than its predecessor was capable of. The DLED9N-BI light head also features some new housing updates as the chassis connector is relocated to the bottom of the light head. The back casing redesign cuts down light leaks even further as well.
You might have experienced open-faced LED lights that require a beam-shaping accessory to get a fixed angle of exit and change the beam size. Moving the light from the subject is often impractical, time-consuming and sometimes impossible in tight spaces. Dedolight LED focusing lights are just not that: straight out of the box the light has a manual focusing range from 50°- 4° (1:12 light ratio). Think about zooming your light just like the Operator zooms the camera lens. Because you can set the exact beam size you want in seconds, dedolights are in a class of their own.
Difference Between DLED9N and DLED7N
Both the DLED9N and DLED7N light heads share the same power rating (80w max) and operate with DTneo or DTneo+ ballasts. The DLED7N packs the same size diode COB into a smaller housing. While this makes the light very popular due its size and form, the DLED7N beam ratios, 50°- 8° (1:7 light ratio), are smaller than the larger DLED9N 50°- 4° ranges (1:12 light ratio). The DLED9N is about three times larger (8.2 lbs), moving into the A-size optics size. Larger optics on the light and the accessories makes for more robust beams; In flood the DLED9N has about a stop more light, and in spot about two stops more output (and twice as tight). The DLED9N is also a silent, passively cooled light head as opposed to the extremely quiet, actively cooled DLED7N models.
THE DTNEO BALLAST
This is where the dedolight NEO series truly separates itself from its predecessor. Gone are the days when you needed to choose between an AC, AC+DMX or DC ballasts with the previous DLED series. The DTneo, and DTneo+ (wireless option) offer all the functions you wanted in a single ballast, and more. Starting with AC/DC operation, the DTneo is a DC ballast with a V-mount plate for battery operation. The optional AC adapter electronics is built inside a battery shell that looks like and snaps-on exactly like a V-mount battery. DMX is now a standard feature in all DTNeo ballasts. Use the simple push/turn knob and OLED displayed menu to select between a deep, smooth "linear" or "exponential" dimming curve, or seamlessly change color, without drifting - even at very low settings (0.1 to 100% dimming range). Take advantage of 1000-point 8-bit linear, or 16-bit advanced control (via DMX/RDM protocol). Select the high-speed setting to shoot up to 50,000fps flicker-free. In direct tradition with Dedolight long-lasting equipment, the DTNeo ballast hardware and software are future-proof. The software is user upgradable via USB. The DTneo ballasts have an auto-detect feature to recognize and drive all the upcoming DLEDNeo light heads between 20w-80w. That's not a typo. If you wish to invest for the future, the upcoming DLED3Neo unit, the DLED7Neo Infra-red, Ultra-Violet and even future generations of DLED7Neo, will all be controlled by the DTneo ballast, up to the Neo DLED9. To put it simply, the DTNeo ballast opens the world to an entire new generation of light heads, and the DLED7N-BI leads the party.
With the "DTneo+" version of the ballast you are unlocking the ability to use wireless control via CRMX LumenRadio and Bluetooth.
