Take your focusing range and exit angles off the charts by adding this aspheric wide-angle lens to your DLH400, DLH652T, DLED9, or DLED10 model light heads.
Traditionally, small fresnel studio lights offer a focus range of roughly 1:3. Some larger studio fixtures can reach ratios of 1:6. Dedolights can reach an insane native focusing range of 1:25. These figures refer to change of light intensity when focusing from flood to spot. At the same time, the variation of exit angle is changed from 60° to 4°. Without time-killing attachments, those kind of numbers are not obtainable for any other focusing lights in the market. By adding this wide-angle lens attachment the focusing range of your dedolight can now reach an astonishing 1:55 ratio, and the native exit angle from 4° to almost 90° with the DLWAR wide angle adapter. For video cameras, these kind of optical attachments you might know about, but nobody has ever built anything like it for the focusing lights.
Now add rotating barn doors with integrated gel clips and you have the ability to cut trapezoidal angles from barn doors which were not possible. For example, light from any angle and project a square by cutting a trapezoid with the doors (see images).
This is not a required attachment to use the lights, but it's an amazing tool which can give your light that much more creative power.
