The SETDPB70 is a complete kit with the necessary elements to run the magnificent DPB70 Parallel Beam light. The light itself comes with a Yoke to mount on a professional Junior stand. The wheeled base that doubles as heavy-duty roadie case is included in this kit. The DPB70 rolling base allows for quick and precise positioning of the system. The DPB70HON honeycomb and DPB70H filter holder are optional.
SET INCLUDES:
- DPB70 - Parallel Beam light head
- DEB1200 - Flicker free ballast with mains cable
- DPOW1200D - Head cable, 23'
- DL1200DHR-PB - Special 1200w, Metal Halide, G22 lamp

The DPB70
The DPB70 is a special light that produces a parallel 2° beam from its 70cm (2.3') front diameter. The light excels in extreme efficiency and unprecedented homogeneity within the beam past 10'. These qualities are inherent to all dedolights, and are critical to get the most from the Lightstream reflectors system. This light has hot re-strike capability with its DEB1200D flicker-free DMX-ready electronic ballast. It also features an extended dimming range for an HMI from 100 to 60%.
This light redefines what you are used to see when turning on a 1200w HMI. At 15' this light meters around 112,000 lux and lights a 34" diameter circle. Unlike a 7k Xenon the DPB70 can be operated in any position without heat issues. IP63 rated, it can be operated indoor/outdoor in mild rain. But the magic is delivered by the narrowness and structure of its beam. With this light you are creating a "virtual" light source producing shadows similar to that of sunlight. Not only it looks like the photons originate well BEHIND the physical light, but it escapes the inverse of the square law. With an output of 112,000 lux at 15 ft one would calculate an intensity of 28,000 lux at 30 ft, but the DPB70 outputs twice that with 68,000 lux. While the distance is doubled, the output only drops by 50% (instead of 75%). The effect of the light on the subject appears as if it's coming from much further away. The DPB70 is not just brutal output, it is ideal to shrink the room required for routine setups. For example, placing a large Lightstream #1 reflector only 10ft from the DPB70 allows to redirect the beam through a window replicating shafts of sunlight in a tight space. This traditionally requires a Condor and large HMI sources from a substantial distance. Keep in mind this light does not require a generator but runs from a regular house breaker! While the light looks impressive, its uncanny bi-product is SAVINGS: save space, time, money, energy, permits, all the while delivering the cleanest, sun-like beam on the market.
