The 10" Fresnel Focusing lens kit for Orion 675 FS is larger in diameter than the light head itself. Once mounted to it, the Fresnel will hit any flat surface you may try to sit the light on. This can of course damage your Fresnel but also affect the front of the light head. The Prolycht riser -aka extended base- attaches to the bottom of the light head lifting it off the ground and allowing users to safely place it on any flat surface with the fresnel lens mounted.
This is a ProCali customization of the Prolycht riser "extended base". We've added collapsable elbow joints to the unit so it can be folded to store in existing cases. Making the unit collapsable makes it easier to pack since there is no dedicated space in either the Orion 675 hard case with laser cut foam, nor the factory Fresnel kit semi-hard case.
