These new flexible reflectors are playing by different rules and are the next logical advancement in Lightstreaming.
"V" for Variable - the new V-Flector Lightstream reflector kit allows users to bend the surface of the reflector and achieve variable beam spreads. These reflectors are no longer restricted to angles of exit preset by their surfaces. Made of Dedolight's regular Lightstream reflectors' surfaces, when flat the #2 reflector has about a 12º beam angle of return, while the flat #3 has a wider beam angle of around 50º (with a longer shadow fall-off). Mounted into the V-Flector Control Arm, the surfaces can be bent to a wider angle of your choice on any one axis as well as rotate 360º. For example, with a full flex of the V-Flector you can achieve up to +/- 90° spread, depending on angles and light source used. Using a #2 V-Flector you can achieve narrower but longer beams linearly than a fixed flat #3 reflector which has a longer shadow fall-off.
This kit comes with two reflectors and one Control Arm. Made of aluminum, the V-Flector Arm has a control handle that holds its position when stopped anywhere along its adjustment range. The arm holder has a friction/lock Kipp handle and a 5/8" receiver. You can quickly swap out reflectors in the arm and achieve the light you want.
Swapping out V-Flectors in the Control Arm is fast and easy. The V-Flector features 2 rigid side bars to quickly mount it to the Control Arm with 4 captive thumbscrews. The handle slides along the arm to bend the V-Flector and keep it at the desired angle. The pivoting system in the middle of the Control Arm allows to rotate the V-Flector 360º and has a Kipp handle to secure its tilt once positioned. The Control Arm comes with a 5/8" receptacle to fit on baby stands and other grip gear.
For controlled, systematic and optimum results, use a dedolight with Parallel Beam Intensifier. All Lightstream reflector boards transfer over 95% of the total lumens generated from the light source. If you have ever felt limited by the fixed reflective indexes and spreads, this system is for you.
